The holidays have come and gone and it seems this time of year lingers and gives way cabin fever. The sun has tormented us with brief periods of high 40’s to low 50’s, robins are everywhere you look. Are they confused? Did they not get Phil’s message?
Here are a few suggestions to break out of the snow shoveling, and de-icing and spend some time with the family enjoying the surrounding areas.
Pack up the family and the car and head west on US 6 toward Golden for a drive through Clear Creek Canyon. The winter views are incredible, frozen small waterfalls cascading down the mountainside, snowcapped trees and rocks lining the creek as it winds through the canyon. The nighttime views of the city skyline are breathtaking and relaxing. Grab a thermos full of Cocoa, some snacks, and enjoy the sights and the conversation. It is a great way to spend some quality time connecting with family.
While you’re in the area check out what’s a happening in Golden through the end of February including the Buffalo Bill Birthday celebration on February 26th. The Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave will be having a party for Bill with cake at 12:00 pm and it’s a free day at the museum. Go to www.buffalobill.org click on events and exhibits then click on special events for details.
Winter Sledding in Colorado
These days, you don’t even have to partake in the dreaded walk back up to the top of the hill! Load up the kids in the car and hit any number of ski resorts.
