The start of fall brings a wide range of inexpensive activities all over Denver to enjoy each weekend. Here are just a few suggestions to check out.
Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch at the Denver Botanic Gardens in Chatfield. The southern branch of the Denver Botanic Gardens offers a huge corn maze and pumpkin patch every year. Bring a wagon to transport your pumpkin back to the car as these beauties can get big! The average cost of a pumpkin from the patch is about $8. Adult admissions are $7 and kids are $5. A trip through the maze is an extra $6 (adults and kids). Hours vary during October.
If you live up north and want to find a pumpkin patch closer to your neighborhood, check out the Denver Post for other choices in your neck of the woods.
If you have never been to a pumpkin chucking competition, don’t miss this year’s edition of “Punkin Chunkin” at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds on October 13th. A wide range of different machines will send pumpkins flying hundreds of feet in the air. You can also enjoy the fall festival with live music, a pumpkin patch, food vendors and more.
Go for a mountain drive and take in the fall colors. Check out our post on different routes to try if you’re ready to head for the hills and enjoy the aspens turning to gold.
We hope you get out this fall and have fun at all the local events that make Denver such a wonderful place to live!
