Hands free Communications while Driving - Accurate Auto Body

We’ve been told time and time again that texting while driving increases the risk for car accidents significantly. Answering a text takes a driver’s attention away from the road for an average of 5 seconds, which is enough time to travel the length of a football field. Thankfully, new technologies are evolving that allow drivers to use voice commands while driving in order to avoid the temptation of texting. At Accurate Auto Body we are all for any device that allows your eyes to stay focused on the road. Here are just a few of the new and exciting technologies.

Drive Safe.ly

DriveSafe.ly is an app with features that allow messages and e-mails to be read aloud in real time. The app will also automatically respond without a driver ever touching the phone. This new app includes features that are Bluetooth compatible, hands free, follow simple commands and more. The auto-response allows for drivers to keep their eyes on the road, without ever pressing a button.

Driver Assistance

Most newly remodeled cars come with driver assistance. This new feature allows for drivers to sync their phones to their cars via Bluetooth technology. It automatically holds all your calls, e-mails and text messages while you’re driving. There are also options for drivers to answer calls and respond to texts with just the press of a button on their steering wheel. There is typically an additional fee when purchasing the car, but the safety benefits outweigh the small price to pay.

Headsets

One of the easiest ways to communicate hands-free is by answering phone calls on your headset. All you do is press the button by your ear and you’re all set. There is no need to even look at your phone, which truly helps minimize distractions. These are also sold everywhere and not too much money, so they are a great solution to distracted communication while driving.
