  • Flashlight with extra batteries
  • Snack food and water
  • Waterproof matches and emergency candles
  • First Aid Kit with a pocketknife

Survival Tips

Getting stuck is unavoidable sometimes, but having your winter survival kit on hand can help you get out of most slick situations. However, vehicle is stuck and you are unable to call and unsure of your location, do not go walking for help, especially during a storm. Your vehicle is a great shelter and warm clothes and a single candle burning inside of your vehicle can keep you safe from hypothermia. If you are unable to call, stay warm and wait for help to come, being sure you are ready to flag it down once it arrives.

If you have an accident or are stuck and in need of help, be sure that your vehicle is clearly marked with reflectors and hazard lights. If you are in need of help, don’t hesitate to call the police, but be sure to follow whatever instructions you are given.
